According to the Luke 14 resources, 2.5 million Australians provide support and care for a family member with a disability and out of those 500,000 do this full time.

• Family caregivers have the lowest rate of emotional well-being of any Australian group
• 1 in 3 people with a disability lives in a jobless household
• The cost of living doubles with a child with a disability
• Parents of children with disability have a higher rate of separation and divorce

That is why we lead retreats. We host Women’s Weekend retreats four times a year at Long Beach. Set in a relaxing environment with beautiful surroundings the house is walking distance from the beach and provides plenty of space for you to relax and unwind.

We also offer Women's Day retreats for those who can’t take the entire weekend off. These days are designed to be an opportunity for rest and recuperation without having to pack a bag. Day Retreats include a morning activity, a shared lunch, and an afternoon of simple craft.

For fathers and male carers we offer a couple of Weekend Retreats each year, also at the Long Beach House plus we have a regular Men's BBQ night on the 2nd Tuesday of each month.
