Become a Volunteer
Embracing Ministries needs adult volunteers to assist the leadership team and make events like the Spring Christian Holiday Program happen. If you would like to help, please contact us.
Become a Mentor
The Embracing Ministries Mentor Program offers opportunities for students in years 9-12 to join our team as young leaders. Each mentor works as the partner of a young person with a disability. Young leaders are trained to prepare for the unique challenges faced in leading the holiday programs, as well as weekly Minnows Music sessions. Benefits of becoming a Mentor include:
One of the mentors said,
“Being a mentor at the Christian Spring Holiday Program was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. I went into it wanting to show the participants the love of God, but did not anticipate that the reverse would also happen! They showed me how incredible God’s love is for each of His children and taught me so many other things. I really hope that I get the opportunity to do this again.”
another mentor said,
"The skills I learned as a mentor with the Christian Spring Holiday Program have helped me to gain employment as an educator in Out of Hours School Care. I will never forget the experiences I had, together with the participants and other mentors."
Volunteers and mentors need to fulfil all the requirements for volunteers set out by the Anglican diocese of Canberra and Goulburn, and be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 in line with Government guidelines.
If you are considering becoming a volunteer or mentor, or would like more information, please contact us at info@embracingministries.org.
