As we come into Carers week, we want to offer parishes some prayers for Carers in our community.
Loving God, we acknowledge you as the exemplar of being our lifelong carer. May your presence as the ultimate carer surround those who provide care. May their selfless giving, compassion and care by enlivened and enriched by your Spirit and the inspiration of your sacrificial love. Help those who care to seek your face, build connections that are mutually enriching, and stay the course even in times of loneliness, grief, rejection, and frustration. Help others to see and recognise carers for all they do for our most vulnerable- in love duty and responsibility

Loving and embracing God we acknowledge the parents, carers and siblings who provide care for people with disability. We praise and thank you for their abiding love, of doing your work in providing comfort, support, companionship and fulfilling lives for people with disability. In times of trial give carers grace, in times of despair give them hope, in times of loneliness surround them with your love, in times of exhaustion give them strength, in times of doubt give the courage, in times of weariness may you be their source of energy and at times where administration, navigating services and paper work and finances becomes overwhelming give the clarity of mind and resilience.

We pray for the special ministry of caregiving. The apostle Paul reminds us that we are all connected and only exist in a unified and diverse body. May our churches be inspired by being part of and connected to those to whom they provide care May carers who accompany those with disability whatever its forms whether physical, psychological, mental, intellectual, sensory, cognitive, developmental, neurological be supported in prayer and in practical ways by communities of faith. May carers be blessed, have times of respite, may communities of faith embrace and affirm them and give them fortitude, befriend them and encourage them in their many roles. Amen
