CHRISTMAS APPEAL

Together, Bringing Christmas Joy

This Christmas season, Embracing Ministries is again partnering with schools, churches, and our community to provide gifts and food hampers for young people with disabilities and their families who need a special sparkle of hope this Christmas. If you would like to participate, please see the opportunities to get involved listed below.

Last year, thanks to the generosity of our community, we were able to deliver 40 food hampers, 40 children’s gifts, and 25 gifts to carers. This year, we hope to be able to provide 50 children’s gifts and associated carers’ gifts and family hampers, which will be distributed via the Canberra region specialist school network.

Our Christmas Appeal is an annual high point.

Our Christmas Appeal is another opportunity to witness the generosity and love of our partners poured out to our community in a display of Jesus’ love. Along with the tangible gifts, we celebrate the partnership of various organisations, including Radford College, Burgmann Anglican School and Canberra Girls Grammar School who make this initiative possible.

We also invite our wider community to participate to our Christmas appeal, through gifts of non-perishable items, a financial donation, or a donation of time and talents in gift wrapping.

Can you help?
Every contribution, no matter the size, directly benefits an Embracing Ministries family, bringing hope and joy, reminding our friends that we love them!

FOR FAMILIES

Would you like to opt in to receive a hamper?

Whilst we approach the specialist schools for people who they feel could use these hampers and gifts, we know that disability is much more widespread than our specialist schools. If you would like to opt in for receiving a gift and food hamper, please complete the form below.

FOR CHURCHES, SCHOOLS AND INDIVIDUALS

HOW YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE

We would love to partner with you to be the sparkle in a family’s Christmas this year.

There are several ways you can help:

  • Donate Non-Perishable Food Items: Pantry staples like canned goods, pasta, rice, sugar, tea, coffee, and other non-perishables, such as toiletries, go a long way in filling our hampers with essentials.  We would also love to include some holiday fun, too. This could include Christmas lollies, chips, juice and bon-bons.
  • Offer Financial Support: Your monetary donations enable us to purchase specific items for each family, helping to ensure that no one goes without during the festive season.
  • Volunteer Your Time: We need helping hands to wrap and deliver gifts and hampers, on or around 8th December – further details to be provided.

We gratefully accept donations to support our work. Please note that at this stage we are not registered for tax-deductible giving. Every contribution still makes a real difference, and we deeply appreciate your support.
